Today will be another dry day for most of the country with a mix of sunshine and cloud, Met Éireann has said.

While a few light showers may develop, they will be the exception. Highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees, mildest in the South, all in a light to moderate northerly breeze.

Tonight will be generally dry under broken cloud with just a few showers across the North and Northwest.

It will be chilly with lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees, coldest where clear breaks persist. A few mist patches too with light variable breezes.

There will be scattered showers in the North and Northwest early on Thursday with a few sunny spells elsewhere.

It will become cloudier everywhere through the day with some showery outbreaks of rain developing.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees in light to moderate northerly or variable breezes, coolest across northern and eastern fringes.

The national forecaster said it will be cooler for the rest of the week with some showery outbreaks of rain.

There will be some bright or sunny spells on Friday but overall cloudy with well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in a light to moderate northeasterly breeze.

Any showers will soon die away with long clear spells following overnight. Some frost will set in. Cold with lowest temperatures of -1 to 3 degrees in light northerly breezes.

Current indications suggest there will be a bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered April showers this weekend with the likelihood of more general falls of rain moving in off the Atlantic on Sunday.

Much of the South and Southeast may stay fully dry, however. It will be fairly cool with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Northerly winds will likely veer westerly.
