Fine weather today as Met Éireann gives prediction for the weekend

It will be mostly dry today and becoming increasingly fine in most areas, Met Éireann has said.

Highest temperatures will be 11 to 16C, warmest in the south, in light to moderate northerly winds.

Overnight it will be mostly dry with a few light showers in the west, but it will be cool, with lows of 1 to 5C.

Wednesday will be cloudy with sunny spells, with a few light showers developing, Met Éireann says, in highs of 15C in light to moderate winds.

However, Thursday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain in western and northern counties early on, spreading across the country throughout the day, with light winds and highs of 13C.

On Friday there will be rain mainly across the south in highs of 8 to 11C.

The weekend ahead is also looking unsettled, with outbreaks of rain likely, especially in the south, where blustery winds are expected, in highs of just 8 to 12C.
