Hundreds march through Newtownmountkennedy against IPAS centre
An estimated 200 people marched through the Wicklow village of Newtownmountkennedy last weekend, calling for an end to plans to house up to 160 asylum seekers in tents at a nearby site.
The local community has been staging round the clock protests at River Lodge House for the past three weeks, with tensions boiling over on Thursday night last week as protestors clashed with gardaí, fires were lit and several arrests were made. Video: Ronan Hickey
