Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry put their recent Masters setbacks behind them and belted out Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” after their win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Ryder Cup duo beat Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer with a par at the first extra hole of a playoff at TPC Louisiana, and they were in top form afterwards as they sang for fans after the presentation.

Lowry did his best to sing a few words, but it was world No 2 McIlroy who showed his skills by belting out most of the lyrics.

Lowry joked, “Couldn’t get a word in”, as he took to X to post footage of their singalong in New Orleans.

It was McIlroy’s second win worldwide this year and his 25th on the PGA Tour.

That means he’s now tied with Johnny Miller, Tommy Armour and Macdonald Smith in the all-time list, one shy of Henry Picard, who won 26.

The only players ahead of McIlroy with whom he’d have played tournament golf are Tiger Woods (82 wins), Phil Mickelson (45), Tom Watson (39) and Vijay Singh (34).

Lowry now has three PGA Tour wins and seven worldwide.

His playoff win with McIlroy at TPC Louisiana was his first in sudden death since he beat Robert Rock in a playoff as an amateur to memorably capture the Irish Open at Baltray in 2009.

He went on to win the Portugal Masters (2012), the WGC Bridgestone Invitational (2025), the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (2019), the Open (2019) and the BMW PGA (2022) before ending his near five-year PGA Tour drought last night.
