Kerry Group’s ‘red brick’ administration building in Charleville has been put up for sale.

The 2,529m² office building, located on the outskirts of the town, is listed for a price of €750,000 on popular property websites.

The Kilmallock Road premises also comes with a 7-acre site with car parking space to its rear.

“The premises undoubtedly offers a rare opportunity to acquire an office premises in close proximity to Limerick, Cork and Kerry,” Property agents Sherry Fitzgerald say.

The facility ceased operations around 12 months ago, with existing staff redeployed to other locations.

The building was originally opened as the Golden Vale cheese factory in 1948, employing 30 people, and was taken over by Kerry Group in 2001.

In 2021, the Listowel-founded business announced that it would be cutting 150 of its employees over a duration of 12 months and it would be creating a consolidated shared services division at its facilities in Malaysia and Mexico.

At the time, it was reported that 70 jobs would be cut at the Charleville administration building, which employed 150 workers at the time.
