Protesting, campaigning and advocating are part and parcel of the activities of Leinster House. Some carry placards outside the gate, others hold briefings inside a meeting room or book a room in Buswells Hotel across the road as they seek to influence policy, legislation and ­funding.

And then there’s VIP-level lobbying inside the Ceann Comhairle’s private dining room.
