Question: I recently bought a second-hand “designer handbag” for €110 from an Irish seller on a well-known online marketplace. It was meant to be a gift for my wife. I arranged to meet up with the seller and after taking a look at the bag, I bought it because it seemed fine and looked like it was in great condition.

I used cash to purchase it because I didn’t want some stranger having my banking details. However, when I gave the bag to my wife, she told me that it was a fake designer bag (apparently the brand logo on it isn’t quite right) and now I feel like I’ve been scammed.
